Bigleaf lupine "Yellow Flame" - Lupinus polyphyllus.
Fantastically gigantic inflorescences!
A perennial flowering plant of the legume family. Its tall, strictly vertical peduncles up to 100 cm high are decorated with spectacular palmate leaves. The inflorescence is a bright yellow, dense, multi-flowered raceme up to 45 cm long, flowers are 2 cm in size, numerous, fragrant.
Blooms from the first days of June for 30-40 days. It loves light, but tolerates light partial shade. It grows well on any light soil with a pH of 5.5-6.0.
Propagated by seeds. It is better to sow freshly collected seeds before winter or in early spring directly into the ground.
Lupines are used in group plantings in large arrays in the background, on lawns in front of a hedge or together with other perennials in mixed borders.

Bigleaf lupine, garden lupin. Bot. syn.: Lupinus alilatissimus, Lupinus apodotropis Heller.
